ancestral & lineage healing

This doorway offers space to listen to the threads of lineage, memory, and inheritance that shape our lives. It invites careful, respectful engagement with what has been carried across generations, both consciously and quietly.

You may feel drawn here when questions of belonging or identity arise; when family patterns feel heavy, confusing, or unresolved; or when there is a wish to reconnect with ancestral resources that support rather than burden present life.

This work moves at its own pace and is held with close attention to consent, safety, and containment. Sessions are usually offered one-to-one, allowing for depth and continuity, with other doorways supporting the process when appropriate. If you are unsure where to begin, we can listen together.

Dia Muertos

connecting with our wise and loving ancestors

Ancestral support can be a powerful source of personal and family healing, as well as cultural restoration and reconciliation. By connecting with the wisdom of our elders, we cultivate nurturing relationships with harmonized blood ancestors — leaning into their support, guidance, and lived experience.

Building the relationship offers insight into inherited patterns that may feel like family burdens, while also illuminating the gifts, resilience, and wisdom carried within the lineage. The process supports the establishment of meaningful and grounded relationships with supportive ancestors, allowing repair and continuity to unfold over time. The healing part follows a structured five-step process and typically unfolds across several sessions, allowing integration rather than urgency. Pace and focus are guided by what feels most relevant and supportive as the process develops.

Ancestral Healing is informed by the gentle system developed by Dr. Daniel Foor for restoring and harmonizing blood lineages, and is woven with my own experience and approach to ritual, memory, and ancestral reverence. This practice fosters healthy and supportive relationships with the wise ones who came before us.

In this work, ANCESTRY is approached as a living field of relationship — shaped by memory, story, culture, and lived pattern. Ancestral presence may be experienced in different ways: through inner images, emotions, sensations, dreams. Sometimes it is a perceiving of synchronic events that involves ancestral figures or their belongings or a sense of relational orientation over time.

These experiences are approached as relational and symbolic, while also acknowledging that some may experience ancestral presence as direct and literal within their own belief systems. The focus is not on adopting a particular view, but on listening carefully to what supports repair, continuity, and life in the present.

Sessions take place within a carefully held space and include body awareness, guided inner exploration, somatic experience, music, ritual gestures, expressions of gratitude, and the creation of a simple altar. There can be offerings and even homework given that may inspire and consolidate your relationship with your lineages over times. These elements support attentiveness, safety, and meaning-making, rather than imposing belief. The goal is harmonizing-healing a lineage, understanding the gifts and the burdens it carries and honoring the lessons that came through it in your life.

No genealogical knowledge is required, though it may be welcomed if available. You are not asked to “heal the lineage” alone. This work emphasizes support, shared responsibility between You and the Wise Elders of the lineage, and trust — allowing insight into inherited strengths while gently loosening patterns that no longer serve.

This work is accessible without prior ritual experience or special abilities. Guidance and support are offered throughout the process, especially for those new to this way of working or uncertain about their own sensing and intuition.

Some answers to common questions

In this working structure, the ancestors are the people who lived before you and from whom you descend directly, your bloodline. However, you do not need to know anything about your ancestors, genealogy or biological family to do this work.

Your ancestors lived through thousands of years and experienced many kinds of hardships and blessings. This makes them precious wisdom keepers and a powerful source of support and love when we need help and guidance. They know our true potential and wish for us to live lives that fulfill us and express our unique gifts.

By healing and tending to your ancestors, you can align more deeply with your own life path. You can heal toxic patterns passed down through generations and transform unhealthy dynamics within your living family. You can reconnect with the Earth and the natural world. You can contribute to cultural healing of long-standing wounds such as patriarchy, racism, homophobia, and religious fundamentalism.

You can reclaim talents and gifts that have always been yours, allowing yourself to be guided and held by your family web. In doing so, you can help create and weave a new cycle filled with belonging, abundance, and a deep sense of inner integration.

Whatever your circumstances or needs, this work offers a strong foundation for deepening your roots and strengthening your sense of grounding. Whether you are an immigrant, a nomad without a fixed home, a rooted settler who has never left their homeland, in close relationship with your living family or distant from them, adopted, or an orphan—regardless of your current circumstances, your ancestors are always there for you.

This path supports you in establishing nurturing, supportive relationships with them. If you wish to feel more at home within yourself, to discover a deeper sense of purpose, or to experience both belonging and healthy boundaries in your relationships, this work may be right for you.

If you have engaged in psychotherapy or other personal development practices yet still carry burdens from earlier generations, ancestral healing can offer meaningful support.

If you are new to personal or healing work, this is also a gentle and powerful place to begin—by acknowledging your roots and building a strong foundation with your family lineage.

Ancestral healing is an excellent ally of psychotherapy, although it is not a substitute for somatic or process trauma work. In addition, ancestral healing is a spiritually sound process in which heavy lifting is done by wise and loving ancestors, not by you or your therapist. You move through the steps at your own pace, each step being based on the previous one.
The model emphasizes ritual safety, with clear and effective boundaries between you and all ancestors who are not yet in good spirits.

  • I offer a free 30-minute consultation to get to know each other and address any questions you may have.
  • Sessions can take place either in person or online via Zoom.
  • The initial session is 90 minutes long and helps us assess the current state of your lineage and establish a strong foundation for the work ahead.
  • Regular sessions are 70 minutes long. Together, we create a supportive ritual space, which may include drumming, smudging, and making offerings on the altar, before entering the practice. This involves guided meditation, relating to the inner images or sensations that arise, and using them as information about the progress of the work.
  • During the sessions, I support you in nurturing relationships with your ancestors and ensure a safe, well-held ritual space as you connect and work with your intuition.
  • I take notes while your ancestors share their guidance and wisdom, and I may offer suggestions related to the concerns you bring to them. These notes can help you track the process and understand how to best tend and deepen your connection over time.
  • There is also some homework that your ancestors or me might give you to support the process and keep you on track. Usually as a preparation for the next session.

If a loved one has died recently, you may still be in a period of grief, and it is important to be fully present with this difficult process. As you tend your relationship with the elders in your lineage, they in turn can hold and support the newly passed family member.

For up to a year after death, it is often understood that the spirit of the person who has passed needs time to adjust, just as you may need time as well. After a year or more, it may become possible to consciously reconnect with the spirit of your loved one.

While ancestral healing can be supportive at any stage, it is often most effective once the loved one has fully transitioned. Even so, this work can meaningfully support the process of acceptance and preparation for the soul’s journey, including when the death has occurred recently.

Tending for the ancestral relationships and remembering those who preceded you has been a tradition in most ancient cultures. Today there are still some taboos around its rituals. Some people falsely believe it’s a time to worship ancestors; in reality, it’s a practice that holds deep reverence and remembrance of our ancestors through offerings and prayer. It’s a beautiful way to ensure those who came before us are never forgotten and are strong enough to continue protecting and guiding us.

Please contact me for pricing, as I offer a sliding scale based on individual needs. I also provide low-income rates and make space for a limited number of free sessions.

I value this work deeply and walk this path with a full heart. Fair and conscious energy exchange is an important part of my personal and professional ethics, and I wish this work to be accessible to all who need it. I therefore kindly ask for a truthful and honest assessment of your current situation when choosing to work with me.

I am happy both to support and to be supported, so that this work may continue within a balanced and sustainable economy.
